Only last week Steve Jobs announced the iPad. He then fired his gun at Google saying that their "no evil" - policy was bullshit and that Google was aiming on competing with them on mobile. Do you think he then knew that Google was making the next competitor of the iPad?
A posting on Google's Chromium blog shows Google is making the iPad competitor. A video posted on YouTube (later on in this post) even shows how the Google tablet will work.
According to the post the tablet has these features:
- Keyboard interaction with the screen: anchored, split, attached to focus.
- Launchers as an overlay, providing touch or search as means to access web sites.
- Contextual actions triggered via dwell.
- Zooming UI for multiple tabs
- Tabs presented along the side of the screen (see Side tabs)
- Creating multiple browsers on screen using a launcher
Rumours are HTC is building the tablet with Google.
